Hi, my name is Mike Maguire and after working for the NHS for four decades, first as a Nurse for People with Learning Disabilities, then lately in NHS Information Management & Technology. I retired in January 2016 to follow my passion for Alternative Therapies
After completing, in 2007, a VTCT Certificate (Level 3) in Reflexology Techniques. I began a fascinating journey of discovery, learning about holistic therapies and myself as a whole.
Since 2007 I have completed a VTCT Diploma in Indian Head Massage, and a Practitioners Diploma in Seated Acupressure.
Closely followed by a certificates in Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), obtained within the NHS as part of a Debrief Team for Staff and outside with an approved qualification. EFT has proved very effective in helping clients cope with many of the issues that are released by the other modalities I practice.
Other workshops and training completed or attended since 2007 include:
- Ear Acupuncture for Stress and Anxiety Management
- Alexander technique
- Auricular Reflexology
- Finger free Reflexology
- Reiki Attunement to level III
- EMM-Tech short course for Emmett Technique
- Emmett Technique Modules 1 to 6: leading to Full Emmett Practitioner
I feel strongly that my future lies with complementary therapies, especially the meridian based techniques. Working as Holistic Practitioner could be described as my retirement plan and I look forward to practicing as a meridian based therapist full time and following a spiritual path over the coming years.
After 40 years in the NHS I am used to working professional guidelines and I strive to offer the highest possible care to my clients.
Fully insured as a practitioner with third-party liability insurance in all the modalities mentioned so far and a copy of all my certificates is available on request.
Following a fall in Spring 2019 twisting one knee and my spine badly affecting my mobility so after retiring from the events I started a diploma in Solution Focused Hypnotherapy.
Unfortunately with only the Graduation weekend to go Covid hit me hard so that has been put on hold whilst I concentrate on improving health.
But I’ll be back….
